Das Online-Journal SCM der DGPuK ist über die Seite www.scm.nomos.de erreichbar.

Das E-Journal der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Publizistik- und Kommunikationswissenschaft e. V. (DGPuK) präsentiert Beiträge und Analysen aus allen Forschungsrichtungen der Disziplin. Ziel ist es insbesondere, empirische wie theoretische Studien der Medien- und Kommunikationswissenschaft zu veröffentlichen und mit aktuellen Erkenntnissen Impulse zu setzen. Der internationale Forschungsstand wird reflektiert und über neue Entwicklungen und Kontroversen informiert. Durch auch interdisziplinäre Beiträge schafft das E-Journal ein Forum, das wissenschaftliche Perspektiven aufzeigt und den akademischen Austausch fördert.

Das E-Journal erscheint seit 2012 vierteljährlich online mit Beiträgen zum Download im pdf-Format. Seit Ende 2014 ist es zu einer open-access-Publikation geworden.

Seit Mai 2015 ist Studies in Communication and Media Affiliate Journal der "International Communication Association (ICA)". 2019 wurde SCM in den Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) aufgenommen.
